FUNCTIONS

Forever Active Probiotic is a unique combination of 6 carefully selected strains of probiotics, totaling 1 billion Colony Forming Unit (CFU), encapsulated using patented technology into easy-to-swallow beadlet form. The active probiotics are released in the intestines, where they are needed.

The 6 strains of probiotics work individually and in a team to counteract microflora imbalance in the intestines commonly caused by lifestyle choices and stress. Studies showed that these specific probiotics support us in Digestive Health, immune Support and Nutrient Absorption.

Digestive Health
Forever Active Probiotic works by inhibiting and preventing harmful bacteria and yeast from multiplying and colonizing the intestines, thereby reducing the frequency of gastrointestinal disorders. (1) L.Bulgaricus breaks down lactose, and is helpful to sufferers of lactose intolerance. (2). L.Rhamnous is helpful in shortening the duration of diarrhea, stimulating the immune system response and have antibacterial activity against intestinal pathogens.

Immune Support
(3) Studies have shown that high calonies of B.Longum are associated with lower incidence of allergies in children. (4) B.Lactis help to stimulate immune response of the mucus membrane, keeping lungs healthy, thereby reducing the incidence of cough and upper respiratory inflection.

Nutrient absorption
(5) L.Plantarum helps preserve key nutrients, vitamins and antioxidants to counteract undesirable substances in our foods. (6) L.Acidophillus is involved in the production of B vitamins (B3, folic acid and B6) during the digestive processes.

Additional notes: Studies on L.Plantarum also showed that it is helpful in reducing symptoms and frequency of Irritable Bowel Syndrome, while L.Acidophillus was shown to be helpful in reducing the symptoms and frequency of Urinary Tract Infection.

What Do Friendly Bacteria Really Do For Us?
a. Friendly bacteria break down food particles into simple forms to release nutrients. They are essential to the digestion process.
b. They are essential to help the body make use of B-vitamins such as niacin (B3), folic acid, biotin, riboflavin (B2) and pyridoxine (B6).
c. They bind with intestinal mucus to form the barrier to crowd out harmful disease-causing pathogens and prevent the latter from forming colonies.
d. They can help speed up the success of a detoxification program, i.e., removal of toxic substances from the gut. It is akin to sending army reinforcements to take over a territory occupied by enemy forces.
e. Lactobacillus bulgaricus can provide bacterial lactase (i.e. the milk-digesting enzyme) to the intestine, helping to alleviate lactose intolerance symptoms.

Are you getting enough friendly bacteria?
Stress, poor diet, oral contraceptives, steroids ageing, excessive alcohol, yeast and sugar intake, chlorinated water and antibiotics are among the factors that can cause a reduction of good bacteria in our body. These are some reasons why we may want to replenish the friendly bacteria population in our intestines.
Dairy products such as yoghurt that contain Lactobacillus Acidophilus are widely available. However, the level of viable active live bacteria may be very low. They can also be quite high on calories.

Some interesting facts about bacteria in every person’s body:
- An estimated few hundred trillions bacteria live in our body, mostly in the intestinal tract.
- The bacterial population is the highest in the colon (big intestine).
- The intestinal bacteria in an average person can add up to more than 2 kilograms in weight.
- The bacteria make up about 30% of our stools (in dry weight).
- Good bacteria play a key role in the healthy response of the immune cells in the intestinal tract. (Known as Gut Associated Lymphoid Tissue (GALT), these immune cells account for about 2/3 of all immune cells in our body).
- In a healthy person, the balance is maintained in favour of the good bacteria.

Excellent on its own, even better together
What is great about Forever Active Probiotic is that it works very well together with Aloe Vera Gel (and our other Aloe drinks). Aloe Vera Gel is an excellent prebiotic which fosters the growth of friendly bacteria and provides an ideal environment for the probiotic function. So whether your goal is to promote a healthy digestive system, enhance nutrient absorption or immune function, or support detoxification, add Forever Active Probiotic and Aloe Vera Gel to your daily supplementation program.
